Bulldog Steel Products' ground storage tanks are designed and built in accordance with AWWA D100. We have erected ground storage tanks up to 2,000,000 gallon capacity. Currently we are only able to provide ground storage tanks to jobsites located within the state of Texas. We are able to shop build and deliver tanks up to 35,000 gallon capacity. Tanks over 15'-6"dia or taller than 25' must be erected on site.

Foundations

Foundations for these tanks are typically of a pea-gravel type construction. If required we will either refer customers to, or sub-contract directly with, qualified foundation contractors. For these types of foundations we typically supply the rolled steel retainer ring regardless of who prepares the site. Concrete pad and concrete ringwall foundations are also common alternatives.

Tank

All containment material for our tanks are a minimum of 1/4"thk (with the exception of the roof material for supported roofs which will be 3/16"thk). All shell together butt welds are to be full penetration and shall be radiographed per AWWA D100.

Roof

Standard roofs for tanks up to 40'dia shall be a self-supporting cone with no support structure required. Self-supporting roofs are designed per API-650. Larger cone roofs shall require a support structure which will be designed in accordance with the American Institute of Steel Construction guidelines. Knuckled roofs with a coned center section are also within our capabilities.

Appurtenances

Standard tank appurtenances for our ground storage tanks shall include:

(One) 30" x 30" Roof hatch
(One) 30"dia Shell manway
(One) Mushroom-type roof vent w/ stainless bug screen
(One) Overflow w/ BSPI flap valve
(One) 2" Threaded drain coupling
(One) Inlet - w/ riser if required
(One) Outlet
(One) OSHA approved external ladder

Additional, fewer, or alternate appurtenances can be incorporated per the customer's requirements.

Paint

We are capable of blasting and painting (in the field or shop) to meet AWWA D102, NSF61, and SSPC requirements.

Pump Stations

We work closely with pump station contractors and can provide the services and coordination for the site preparation, foundation, electrical, piping hookup and connections to meet individual customer's needs.
