Prices have been steadily climbing, and have jumped a couple of times. Due to climbing steel prices, orders are also coming in quickly, trying to beat further price increases. That means lead times for construction (Ground Storage Tanks) and fabrication (Pressure Vessels) are increasing. We are also hearing from suppliers that due to new tariffs on Mexico and – more importantly – Canada, regardless of price, availability could quickly become an issue. Bulldog Steel has been prepared for this kind of issue. Around 2008, availability and escalating prices were a challenge that we will always be better because of. We made arrangements years ago to insure we had availability during challenging times. In addition, we have for a few months ordered steel for projects long before we have approvals, with the trust and anticipation that comes with 44 years of service and relationships.
Even with lead times growing, we are still ready to deliver a few! The biggest challenge that remains is how to navigate fork lifts around all the steel sitting around….. We love the challenge! Thanks for your continued trust and business! And patience.
Some of the colors we have requested leave me scratching my head. We've done a few pink ones, and now I get it. Fits right in! Out with the old; in with the new. This is an 8' x 24" 10,000 Gallon Pressure Vessel. Thanks for choosing Bulldog Steel for your hydropneumatic pressure tanks! And for the pics!
We were asked to evaluate a tank about a mile from this location. I see this Standpipe in the distance, and knew there was a better than average chance Bulldog Steel built it. Yep! Built in 1988. So I ran Bulldog 1 up the tank to check condition. Why does a municipality want a welded steel Standpipe or Ground Storage Tank built by Bulldog Steel? Because just like this 22' x 120' 341,000 gallon Standpipe, they are... built to last!
This 290 psi pressure vessel has an exterior coating of Rhino Liner - unusual for a pressure vessel around much of the US, but this vessel is being buried due to the extreme temperatures. However... this tank reminded me of some tanks that we built a number of years ago for San Antonio, TX. They had noticed an extreme amount of condensation from the air conditioners of some of the schools. San Antonio is one of the best water conservation locations in the nation, and they had an idea to pipe that condensation to pressure vessels (that we built and they buried) and use the water for irrigation. What a great idea!
An engineer asked us to show an example of an umbrella roof for a job he was designing. We built this one two years ago - before we had a drone to take this kind of footage. So I went back and got some video of this 310k gallon Ground Storage Tank. The roof looks great!
Richard felt nostalgic today, and wrote (inside a pressure vessel can) the history of Bulldog Steel that he could remember during the... THIRTY SEVEN years of working here. There was a break in that time, but as of today, he has been here 29 consecutive years! Quality people make Bulldog Steel a quality company, and Richard continues to be a big part of Bulldog. Thanks for everything, Richard!
