While small for a Standpipe, it's a big load for the road. This 12'x60' 50k gallon welded steel ground storage tank was built in the shop and is headed to a Texas Parks & Wildlife location. (Most of our Standpipes are built on site.)
During the lull of the pandemic, we prepared for the recovery by replacing our old servograph with a plasma. This 40’ x 11’ water table weighed 40k lbs by itself. The lull was short and we're already in the rebound!Everyone has a COVID 19 post. This is just us showing our daily activity for now. Are we concerned? Absolutely. Is it being handled correctly? No idea. We just build vessels and tanks, and take care of our employees as if they are family. We also pray for our families, employees, our nation and our leaders, as well as other countries where we have friends and where we don’t, and especially for our health care workers.
If you are in an industry that depends on retail, oil, or any other dramatically effected industry, you truly do have our empathy. It is beyond my comprehension the level of stress many are going through. May God bless you. Scenes from the last 24 hours: Wow! We build to spec for jobs awarded – not stock; deliver when built. This is what a wet season will do - we’re ready when y’all are! (This is just the NW corner – more on the east side, and at the paint facility on the back 40!)
Prices have been steadily climbing, and have jumped a couple of times. Due to climbing steel prices, orders are also coming in quickly, trying to beat further price increases. That means lead times for construction (Ground Storage Tanks) and fabrication (Pressure Vessels) are increasing. We are also hearing from suppliers that due to new tariffs on Mexico and – more importantly – Canada, regardless of price, availability could quickly become an issue. Bulldog Steel has been prepared for this kind of issue. Around 2008, availability and escalating prices were a challenge that we will always be better because of. We made arrangements years ago to insure we had availability during challenging times. In addition, we have for a few months ordered steel for projects long before we have approvals, with the trust and anticipation that comes with 44 years of service and relationships.
Even with lead times growing, we are still ready to deliver a few! The biggest challenge that remains is how to navigate fork lifts around all the steel sitting around….. We love the challenge! Thanks for your continued trust and business! And patience. Some of the colors we have requested leave me scratching my head. We've done a few pink ones, and now I get it. Fits right in! Out with the old; in with the new. This is an 8' x 24" 10,000 Gallon Pressure Vessel. Thanks for choosing Bulldog Steel for your hydropneumatic pressure tanks! And for the pics!
Dessert Sand. Dessert Sand. Dessert Sand. Customers generally like their pressure vessels to blend in, so normally they're a pretty bland lot. Not this week! (Well... except for the one on the end.)
We were asked to evaluate a tank about a mile from this location. I see this Standpipe in the distance, and knew there was a better than average chance Bulldog Steel built it. Yep! Built in 1988. So I ran Bulldog 1 up the tank to check condition. Why does a municipality want a welded steel Standpipe or Ground Storage Tank built by Bulldog Steel? Because just like this 22' x 120' 341,000 gallon Standpipe, they are... built to last! |
